The name “Thomas Keller” is almost synonymous with delicious food.  This is a man who has built a strong reputation for himself in the fine dining world with his 2 Michelin rated restaurants Per Se and The French Laundry.  He also has a handful of more casual concepts including Ad Hoc and Bouchon Bistro and Bakery.  I’ve dined at Per Se and this Las Vegas location of Bouchon Bistro before and have been pleased with the food and experience.

Les Patisseries
Bouchon Bakery has a wonderful offering of pastries.  Your meal at the bistro side is started off with a wonderful sampling of such goodies.

Cinnamon Sticky Bun
Super sticky, sweet, and covered in pecans.  Not my favorite being too sweet and heavy.DSC09596

Strawberry Croissant
A traditional croissant is sliced in half and topped with strawberry preserves and streusel topping.  I loved the flakey buttery croissant with the sweet fruity and sugary finish.DSC09597

Raspberry BeignetsDSC09598

A dense donut with a surprise filling.  I love fried dough and berries anything.DSC09601

Monkey Bread
I can’t say I have eaten many monkey breads in my lifetime.  This wasn’t too sweet, but I definitely preferred the the croissant and beignet.DSC09600

Pain Perdu brioche french toast, blueberry compote, vanilla bean butter, crown maple syrup
Delicious but not as good as the offering at Mon Ami Gabi.DSC09606

Poulet et des Gaufres roasted chicken, bacon chive waffle, maple syrup, tahitian vanilla bean butter, sauce chasseur
The chicken was very moist and the waffles were light.  I can’t say I generally appreciate the marriage of chicken and waffles.  I suppose I prefer a fried chicken and denser waffles, but they do a good job putting a more fancy French twist on things with their interpretation here.DSC09608

Croque Madame toasted ham and cheese on brioche, fried egg, sauce mornay, french fries
I finally got my croque madame and it was a cheesy creamy delicious sandwich.  I waited too long to dig into this one so that probably brought things down a notch or two.DSC09609

I enjoyed Bouchon, though maybe not as much as my first visit.  However, we ordered quite a few more dishes at that time so I was probably tickled by the sure variety of food.  Overall, the food is solid and never a bad option for a French bistro style brunch.

I have never tried any of the baked goods. The strawberry croissant sounds very intriguing. Too bad I don’t stay at the Venetian anymore. 😦
