Tai Cheong Bakery

The Annoyer called Tai Cheong the best egg tart in Hong Kong. It’s in my nature to question such bold statements when it pertains to food. My thought it always, “Oh yeah? Well I’ll be the judge of that!” And I arrived, ready to smear this place to the ground.
Service with friendly warm smiles is really NOT the thing in Hong Kong.
The bakery has a variety of other things, but we made a bee line for the egg tarts.
I only wanted 1, but The Annoyer bought a box of 6 or 8 just so he could carry the egg tarts in a box. Otherwise, the egg tarts would go in a bag and he couldn’t have his precious egg tarts like that.
They look really plain and simple. How could this really be as good as The Annoyer says it is?
That sh*t is BOMB!!!! The crust is very much like a pie crust, buttery and crumbly. The egg tart is smooth, still a little jiggly, delicately sweet, and just about one of the best things I ate in Hong Kong. They were sold still warm and were eaten best fresh.
I shouldn’t doubt The Annoyer so much. He knows his food, even his sweets. Tai Cheong is serving up some bomb ass egg tarts. They have locations throughout the city so it shouldn’t be too hard to get 1 (or 2 or 6) into your belly.
